The Gun of the Year for 2001 is an Ultra-20 Exclusive, an over/under rifle/shotgun combination in .30-06 and 20 gauge with 3” chambers. The gun is in the Thermo-Stable configuration with free-floating barrels to allow for heat expansion with no distortion and adverse effect on grouping. The best grade Turkish walnut was hand polished and custom carved with ebony tips. Master engraver Juergen Goeser chose to combine deep relief engraving with fine Bulino style engraving in a unique pattern that highlights the forest animal scenes of continental Europe. This extraordinary interpretation of the engraver’s art earned the Ultra-20 Exclusive 2001 Gun of the Year.
